Wishing
every one of you a happy and healthy New Year. One of the most important
tasks I will be working on is helping to grow the new organization
Texans For Poker.
Legalizing poker, or at least removing some of the outdated
ambiguities in the law are their primary goal, and as a poker player
and avid fan of the game, it should be yours as well. Check out
their web site, and pledge your support!

The
new COPAG cards are in!
If you have
had any exposure to the COPAG plastic playing cards, you know that
this is exciting news. COPAG is a Brazilian company that has been
making cards since 1920. Due to the declining quality and availability
of KEM cards, the COPAG cards have been a very in demand commodity.

Great
New Article!
I just read
a fantastic article regarding the legality of poker in America,
including how it is, how it should be, and examples of the best
and worst laws in the country.
The author
of the article is Bob Ciaffone, and was printed in Card Player Magazine
(www.cardplayer.com), and is reprinted here with the express permission
of both parties.

Clay
Composite Poker Chips
Clay composite poker chips are the most common chips people use
at home. Although a little pricey, these chips will last much longer
then real clay chips. We call this clay composite because the mold
of the chip is made completely of clay. The only thing that is not
clay on these chips is the metal insert. A metal piece is inserted
into the middle of the inlay of the chip, thus increasing the overall
weight of the chip. These chips usually come in 11.5 grams and 13.5
grams.
Composite Poker Chips
Composite poker chips, sometimes referred to as ABS plastic. Many
people get confused when they hear the term clay composite and composite
poker chips. Many online retailers are selling composite (ABS plastic)
chips as clay composite chips. They are actually advertising a misleading
ad to consumers that dont know anything about poker chips.
Composite poker chips usually last a lifetime if handled with proper
care. These chips are made of hard compressed plastic material.
Composite poker chips has a metal insert to adjust the weight of
the chip. These chips usually make a clinging noise when they hit
each other, or "splash" in a pot.
